Shall I count the ways?
The semester is over.
I got A's in both of my photo classes.
A's.
I did much better in my color concept development class than I thought. I was actually pleased with my grade. It happens to be the same one I got for Design I.
And I'm sure I did fine in my adv graphic design class.
If only I had the Adobe suite on my computerrrrr.
Oh well.
This entry isn't meant to be full of whines. Because possibly, I'm way too happy.
My teacher for b/w actually said something really nice about me in my portfolio review. And she tends to be oppositional and more harsh on people. She basically said that I have something that the vast majority doesn't, when it comes to having an eye and intuition in photography. And that given what I know, especially my Adobe experience, as soon as I get my bachelor's I'll be extremely marketable. And that I could get a job like 'that' *snaps fingers*. And I was like, yayyyy.
Besides the fact that I'm done with my 3rd semester, and am proud of my grades, I NOW HAVE MY NIKON. Yes folks, that's right. My D90. With an 18-105 and 70-300 lenses. It finally came last night and it's basically amazing. I played with it a little around midnight, but in a little while I'm going to try the movie mode and all that fun stuff. And actually maybe read some of the directions. Some. Though, it's SO easy to use. And so lightweight. And balanced. And perfect. And Nikon makes my life.
In addition to all this, I FINALLY got my check from the board of elections. So as soon as it clears in my account, I'm buying plane tickets to Maine. You better believe I'm bringing my camera too. It's so great. Like, I have a case for it and the lenses and such. And it fits PERFECTLY in my carry on. Like, it was made to fit inside my KathyVanZeeland luggage. Gone are the days of simply putting it all through the x ray machine, but really. Who cares. I just hope they're careful when they rifle through my camera bag to make sure i'm not secretly hordeing any razor blades. Heh.
ALSO, tonight is the first night of the Christmas program at Church that I'm singing in. It's not a play. I really dislike participating in plays. It's a bunch of songs with random
video and audio/spoken interludes. It's pretty sweet. You should go.
alcclife.org/article15a.htm The end.
Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. And all that fun stuff.
